Eat Some Steak and Scoot Up to Bed

When a family in the suburbs of Onett is awakened by the sound of a meteor crashing into the nearby mountains, a certain boy wants to check it out. That boy is Ness, and his mother, while reluctant to let him investigate the potentially dangerous crash site, knows that he'll just sneak out if she says "no," so she gives him the okay... but not before he changes out of his jammies.

Later that night, she's awakened yet again by Pokey pounding frantically on the door. She ignores Pokey's flattery, but is not blind to the situation of his brother, Picky going missing and sends Ness out to help Pokey. She makes sure that Ness is fully-prepared for his quest, even suggesting that he bring along the family dog, despite not having much faith in how helpful he will be. Being the instinctive mother that she is, she realizes that this is just the beginning of an even greater adventure. She goes on to tell her son just how proud she is of him and that he's her very own "natural born fighter," who'll go far.

Once Ness is all set, she simply shrugs with a nonchalant, "Yeah, sure, you're cool, whatever."

As a mom, she supports Ness in any way that she can, such as...

1) She cooks his favorite meals for him when he comes home.
2) She lies to teachers about his sudden absence from school.
3) She soothes his homesickness with just the sweet sound of her voice alone.
